How We Came to Hommage: The Story of Hommage Design Experiences

This company’s name isn’t a typo; it’s pronounced [O-Mage] in the French accent. It serves dual meanings, playing on the word Homage. Much of my personal style originates from my foremothers—unsung style mavens, expert homemakers, and people who never lacked a sense of exploration, adventure, and wonder. While I inherited their home, photo albums, and the envy they evoked, I’ve made this world my own by adding an extra M as a nod to my middle name, a unique touch the amazing women that came before me, interestingly enough, didn’t have.

Unlike My Foremothers

Envy has never sat well with me. My career began in fashion PR, driven by a love for discovering unique, emerging brands like Mansur Gavriel, Hood By Air, ESSEN, The Arrivals, Batsheva, Away, RAINS, and Telfar – brands with diehard niche fanbases before they soared to popularity. Rather than keeping these discoveries to myself, I shared them generously with my network of peers, putting everyone I knew on, inviting them to sample sales at the showrooms I worked, even if unsolicited.

Navigating My Career Path

My journey at the helm of design and PR agencies, freelancing at trade shows, orchestrating large-scale events, and crafting curated travel experiences for corporate, only fueled my passion to share all of my discoveries. This dedication has brought me to the creation of Hommage Design Experiences.

This venture is grounded in the belief that amazing experiences should be accessible to all, especially the diverse individuals behind the scenes who make these spaces thrive. Often overlooked, these hardworking people deserve the luxury of indulging in remarkable experiences. I have been privileged to make these experiences happen for myself, and I’m here to make them within reach for others.
